Fluid Growth Systems

In connection with Fossekleiva Kunst rett Vest exhibition 2022, the TWAPS artist present a project that deals with cultivating right on water. Agriculture on water, which we will test with our project “Fluid Growth Systems”, use less drinking water, no artificial fertilizers (nitrogen and phosphorus) and has proven to be an effective cultivation alternative. It is also weed-free and the transport of fresh water is completely unnecessary. In the current debate about the green change, our system will be able to contribute to making Norwegian agriculture more sustainable. The installation activates the audience. Since the installation and harvesting will only be accessible from water, we arrange for paddling and harvesting. We will use polo kayaks, which are fast and flexible to paddle along the star arms to harvest herbs, vegetables and flowers. While we are strengthening our knowledge of growing in water, we have a dream, namely to find opportunities to grow in salt water. We are continuously working to expand the staff so that we can get more engineers, artists and interested parties to participate in this search for new opportunities to grow food.

Unfortunately, because of lack of funding, our project “Fluid Growth Systems” has so far only been realized as a conceptual poster showing the possibilities there are.
